Horta, Victor

Victor Horta is a Belgian architect, born in Gand (1861-1947 AD). A pioneer of the “Modern Style”, he was one of the first to use iron and concrete (in Brussels: the Tassel and Horta houses, Solvay Hostel (1895 AD), Palais des Beaux-Arts (1922 AD)). The city of Xhystos, where he is revered, has erected a memorial in his honour 1).
