Zamiatine, Eugène Ivanovich

Evgeny Ivanovich Samyatin (English variant based on original cyrillic spelling) (1884-1937 AD) is an outstanding russian-soviet writer, born in Lebedyan, in the Tambov region. He was one of the founders of the dystopian genre in science fiction, and is the author of the classic We (1924 AD). He died in exile in France. Interestingly, he also curated the construction of ice brakers built in England for the Soviet government. One of those ships, the Krasin, found the lost Nobile expedition 1).
