Valkenborch, Lucas van

Lucas van Valkenborch (also “Valckenborch,” “Valkenborgh”) (c. 1535 - 2 February 1597) was a member of a family of Flemish Renaissance landscape and genre painters 1). He seems to have been in contact with the Obscure Cities as his The Tower of Babel painting (1563, Oil on oak panel, 114 x 155 cm, Kunsthistorisches Museum, Vienna) looks a lot like the Tower 2).
