Voyage dans les Cités Obscures

Voyage dans les Cités Obscures is a new exhibition about the world of François Schuiten and Benoît Peeters. In corporation with le Département de la Sarthe, le Centre culturel de la Sarthe and la librairie Bulle the exhibition will be held in the abbey of Epau. The exhibition can be visited between November 13, 2016 and January 8, 2017.

To announce the event, François Schuiten designed a new image that depicts the Abbey of Epau in his futuristic universe. At the end of the summer 2016, François Schuiten was welcomed to prepare this drawing 1).


The exhibition will show all kind of work of the authors: videos, boards, etc. Also boards deposited in the National Library of France and the Museum of Engraving and Print of La Louviere in Belgium are exposed … Other entertainment in cinemas and libraries of Sarthe accompany this exhibition.

Some images of Revoir Paris can be seen on the gates of L'Hôtel du Département de la Sarthe.

Opening event

The exhibition started on November 13, 2016 with a meeting with François Schuiten and Benoît Peeters. Together with Bruno Letort they told their story about Revoir Paris. Over 800 people visited this event 3).

Announcement poster

François Schuiten made two new images for this exhibition. These images were used for the announcement posters. Atlantic 12 published the announcement poster as a serigraphy (both numbered and not numbered) 4). They also published a port-folio with both images and the designs that were used to create these images 5).
