What are the Obscure Cities?

On the occasion of the thirtieth anniversary of the series about the Obscure Cities and giving the fact that the authors François Schuiten and Benoît Peeters agreed to give away the original drawings, a symposium was held at the National Library of France in Paris 1).

Several stakeholders discussed about the Obscure Cities. What happens to the original plate when reproduced, printed, scanned? What is lost in the aura of the original as it passes over the digital file? Which enhancements possible the original board can avail itself when augmented reality seeps in print production?

What are the Obscure Cities? This conference presented by Tristan Garcia, writer and professor of philosophy was one of the highlights of the conference.
