Zaranites are social insects of the planet Zara. The Gammes have developed their architecture and life style by observing them ¹⁾. Their sting paralyses and they can suck the essence of living creatures ²⁾, including their own males, which are devoured by the females after mating. They are also found within Olive's home world.
