Nobile, Umberto

Umberto Nobile is an Italian general, airman and explorer, born in Lauro (Avelino) in 1885. In 1928 AD, he explored the North Pole on board a Dirigible; lost off the coast of Spitzberg, he was rescued by a Soviet ice-breaker.
