Découverte inattendue (La)

La Découverte inattendue (The Unexpected Discovery) is the title of two large frescoes by Augustin Desombres (diurnal and nocturnal versions), showing the re-creation of the Aconitum in Calvani.

The artist probably took inspiration from several Obscure works, for fragments of this scene can be found in many places on the Continent ¹⁾.
