Brussels Exhibition Centre

The Brussels Exhibition Centre, or Brussels Expo, is the complex of 12 exhibition halls on the Heysel plateau. It is the venue for a series of major national and international events each year 1).

The five emblematic palaces (now Palaces 5, 4, 6, 2 and 10) located around the water feature (opposite the Atomium) are a legacy of the 1935 World Fair and were built in the Art Deco style. They are also a souvenir of the 1958 World Fair. The Brussels Expo vzw or Brussels Exhibition Centre is still active and participates in the economic life of Brussels by hosting numerous trade fairs, events and also concerts, as Palais 12 was transformed into a concert hall in 2013 2).

The building featured as a drawing by François Schuiten on the 2008 catalogus of the fine art show Eurantica.
