Chamisso de Boncourt, Louis Charles Adélaïde [a.k.a. Adelbert von Chamisso]

Louis Charles Adélaïde Chamisso de Boncourt (1781-1838 AD) is a German writer of french origin, born in the castle of Boncourt (Champagne), author of Peter Schlemihls Wundersame Geschichte (The Wonderful Story of Peter Schlemihl) (1814 AD). This tale of a man who sells his shadow has become a classic in the genre.
