Preview 2023

The start of the year is good for a review of 2022 but also for a preview of 2023. What are the plans of François Schuiten and Benoît Peeters for the new year?

The “Poétique de la bande dessinée” course by Benoît Peeters continues at the Collège de France, on 10 and 17 January 2023. A symposium entitled “Nouveaux chemins de la bande dessinée” will take place on 7 June 2023; François will participate.

In February 2023 the exhibition: “Animalia” will be opened at Train-World. And at the end of 2023 the inauguration of the “Cnit Forest” in La Défense will take place.

The large-format edition of La Tour will soon be published by Laurent Hennebelle.

A new version of the album “Plagiat!”, for which Schuiten and Peeters wrote the script and which Alain Goffin drew, will be published in the spring 2023 by Anspach.

By the end of 2023 Schuiten and Peeters will also have a new book: “The return of Captain Nemo”. It will be published in the series of “The Obscure Cities”. It will not be a traditional comic book, but the book will consist of unpublished material about Jules Verne and the future statue “The Nauti-Pulp” that will soon be erected in Amiens.

A German translation of Revoir Paris in projected for Spring 2023. And an Italian translation of the first album of Aquarica will be published in March 2023.

And finally “Schuiten au-delà des albums – L’enquête d’un collectionneur” by Michel Ballieu, that will be published by PLG end of January 2023.
