Schuiten and Peeters win prize at “Paris Se Livre”

François Schuiten and Benoît Peeters have won the Prix Tour Montparnasse in the category Beaux-Livres for their book Revoir Paris, l’Exposition during the 7th edition of PARIS SE LIVRE 1).

PARIS SE LIVRE is a yearly event held at the 56th floor of the Montparnasse Tower. PARIS SE LIVRE is an event organized at the initiative of the Mayor of the 15th arrondissement and l’Ensemble Immobilier Tour Maine-Montparnasse, in partnership with the l’association ACE 15 and the library Le Divan et Zellige. This year PARIS SE LIVRE is organized from June 4 until June 6, 2015.

As every year, the highest library in the capital opens its doors to an unusual or romantic Paris, a historic Paris or mysterious, current and modern Paris, through fine arts, literature, history, thriller, urbanism, comics and children's books … An opportunity for all kind of meetings, discussions, literary exchanges and dedications with a wide range of authors.

In 2014, the Fine Arts prize was awarded to “Paris 1914-1918 : la guerre au quotidien” with photographs by Charles Lansiaux (ed Paris libraries.). The prize of the Parisian Artistic Life in the category Fine Books 2015 will once again make us discover the facets of the world of arts and culture.

This years jury members were: Patrick Abisseror, président de la commission communication de l’EITMM et directeur de Montparnasse56 ; Sylvie Buisson, auteur ; Christian Giudicelli, écrivain, éditeur, critique littéraire et membre du jury du prix Renaudot ; Sylvie Granet, de UES GAIA, pour la SCI PHILGEN Tour Montparnasse ; Roberto Iaia, de la librairie Le Divan ; Hélène Macé de Lépinay ; ancienne adjointe au Maire de Paris ; Josyane Savigneau, auteur, critique, journaliste au Monde ; Amélie Simier, directrice et conservateur du Musée Bourdelle et du Musée Zadkine ; Pierre Vavasseur, auteur, journaliste (Le Parisien, France Inter ; Gilles Vuillemard, directeur immobilier MGEN.

The prizes were presented by Douglas Kennedy, godfather of the 2015 edition of PARIS SE LIVRE. Douglas Kennedy mentioned “Revoir Paris, ce livre absolument magnifique”.

Paris en bande dessinée

On Saturday June 6, 2015 an event will be held with the title “Paris en bande dessinée”. This event will start at 16hrs. François Schuiten and Benoît Peeters will attend this event together with Eric Puech & Gilles Schlesser (Rose de Paris, 1925) and Nadja (Les Filles de Montparnasse, Tome 4).

Afterwards Schuiten and Peeters will sign their albums.
