Les Cerfs-Volants

Les fauteuils volants 1) is a non-profit organisation that helps and supports people with disabilities. The association organizes on April 25, 2015 a benefit night for the project Jangada. Jangada is a supportive housing project to provide to disabled persons their own housing. Jangada consist of a set of sixteen homes on the UCL site in Woluwe-Saint-Lambert. The event aims to collect the missing 12% of the funding needed for the completion of the project 2).

For members of the association, it is essential to improve the lives of these young people and make them independent of their parents. Christine Schuiten, President and initiator of the project, said: “The philosophy ( of the association, ed ), its engine and its heart, is all about solidarity. Then you have to teach them how they can share and give their turn. It is essential that everyone has a role to play3).

An auction will also take place. Kites were decorated by different artists like Philippe Geluck, Dany, Frank Pé, Alexandre Obolensky, Yslare, and the Schuiten brothers, they will be auctioned to complete the financing 4).
