From digital to paper: trips & returns

The Archivarist Celebrating the 30th birthday of the Obscure Cities series and the unique gift of several original pages to the National Library of France (BnF) 1), the BNF organizes a seminar on April 11th 2013 about the Obscure Cities: From digital to paper: trips & returns.

This after-noon will have several views on the work of François Schuiten and Benoît Peeters, whose stories could migrate and occupies a wide variety of media. This seminar will focus on the digital world and how the Obscure Cities fit in this world.

What happens when the original plate is reproduced, printed and scanned? What is lost in the aura of the original when it passes over to the digital file? What possible enhancements of the original plate can be available in time or when augmented reality steps in print production?

Many issues will be addressed before giving way to a conference with unpublished music: “Rêves d'archives”, proposed by François Schuiten, Benoit Peeters and composer Bruno Letort.
