Build of Train World started

Friday 14th September 2012 the build of the Train World museum started with putting down the first stone 1). The museum will be build next to the railway station Schaerbeek in Brussels. The expected opening of the museum will be in 2014. According to Jannie Haek, CEO of NMBS-Holding Train World will become much more than just a museum. It will show how important transport by train was in the past and will be in the future 2).

François Schuiten made the scenography of the museum. He has been working on it for over 6 years.

The new building will be combined with the old building. It will be about 8,000 square meters and will cost 20 million euros 3).
